Position Description
Intern will be responsible for data processing, data presentation, technical support documentation, and educational resources development. Potential topics could include near-surface geophysics and geodetic methods applied to addressing societal challenges such as natural hazards, environment monitoring, infrastructure assessment, and more. The successful applicant will have basic technical skills for working in an online environment, will be highly organized, and will have excellent attention to detail.
Essential Tasks
- Develop or refine technical support documentation for near-surface geophysics instrumentation or software
- Develop or refine teaching materials to support teaching with Earth science data and methods
- Process or reconfigure geophysics data for incorporation into learning activities (ex. electrical resistivity, GPR, GPS/GNSS, and others)
- Manipulate data and images in software such as GIS (e.g. ArcGIS), Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator

Position Description
The Sensor Group within the Instrumentation Services group tests and evaluates the performance of all the seismic instrumentation at the EarthScope Primary Instrument Center (EPIC) to ensure a highly functional instrumentation pool. Your internship will primarily focus on assisting the Sensor Group by updating and refactoring one of the software tools used to facilitate instrumentation evaluations, supporting the implementation of new evaluation methodologies, and streamlining the evaluation process.
Essential Tasks
- Redesign the UI of the instrument evaluation software
- Add and test functionality of seismic instrumentation evaluation software

Position Description
Intern will assist in creating content for outreach-focused science communication to broad audiences, as well as content to highlight EarthScope’s science-support activities to stakeholder communities. Specific projects will be selected based on skillset, interest, and growth goals. Tasks may include contributing to organizational news stories and science summaries, interviewing other interns, creating and posting content on social media, updating and creating webpages, digital or print graphic design, and creating videos. Successful applicants will have basic technical skills working in an online environment, be highly organized, be an enthusiastic learner, and have excellent attention to detail. Support for attending a national science conference following the internship is available.
Essential Tasks
- Produce writing, graphics, or video for communications purposes.
- Create and edit web content using WordPress.
- Develop compelling and engaging social media posts.

The Project Management Intern will support EarthScope's Project Management Office (PMO) by assisting in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of ongoing projects. This position provides valuable exposure to real-world project management practices and is ideal for individuals interested in building foundational skills in project coordination and management. The intern will work closely with project managers and team members, contributing to the success of various initiatives while gaining hands-on experience.

- Project Coordination: Assist project managers in organizing tasks, maintaining schedules, and tracking project progress.
- Documentation Support: Help prepare and maintain project documentation, including meeting notes, action items, and project schedules.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in project meetings and contribute ideas and feedback to ensure successful project execution.

Geo-Launchpad is a paid summer internship and support program in the Earth sciences, exclusive to, and specifically designed, for community college students. The Geo-Launchpad Program (GLP) is hosted by EarthScope, a non-profit, university-governed consortium that facilitates geoscience research and education using geodesy (studies on the size, shape, and other physical characteristics of the Earth), and funded by the National Science Foundation.
